As a primary school, all students that attend our school as an international student MUST be living with their parents. However, Students that come to New Zealand on a program with an agent may be living with a homestay if they are over 10 years.

All homestays are arranged directly between the agent and the homestay hosts. We complete police checks on all homestay hosts and ensure that they comply with homestay regulations as outlined in the Code.

Ahutoetoe School hosts international learners and is a signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 (the Code).

The Code outlines what signatories must do to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their international learners. It is supported by the Code Guidelines.
